I think a lot of people believe that those of us who are seen as frugal don’t feel the pull of stuff.  But guys, I like having stuff. I really do. I’m just like you in that when I go to Target, I want to buy out the entire store. When I’m having a great time at the bar, I’ll buy a round or two for everyone. When I’m driving 3 hours back to my hometown in my kind-of-falling-apart G6, I really want to trade up for a vehicle with an aux feature so I can listen to something besides country radio (because yes, there is a stretch where that’s all that’s playing). I’m not immune to the pull of stuff…I’ve just learned how to be disciplined.

In last week’s post (You Are Who You're With: The 5 Types of People You Need in Your #Squad), I mentioned that my fellow blogging community is very impactful when it comes to keeping that discipline.  When I feel the pull of stuff, these are the people that hold me accountable and help keep me on the path to my goals.  And as a personal finance blogger myself, I feel it my duty to share with you some of the other PF blogs that I’ve fallen in love with over the years.  If you’re looking for some more inspiration, check some (or better yet, all) of these ladies – they publish some great content and some of them are witty as f@#$.

L Bee & the Money Tree

Lauren was one of the first blogs I started following, and she still has me as an avid reader.  And if you’re a millennial thinking about home ownership, she just published an e-book that basically tells you everything you need to know and consider before buying.  AND it comes with pretty worksheets.  Win-win.

Mixed Up Money

I feel like if Alyssa and I lived in the same city, we’d be best friends.  Because she’s a money-lover like me.  And played soccer.  And keeps it extremely real on her blog.  And has great dance moves (see below). Check her out (you can find one of my favorite articles of hers here).  You’ll love her.  I promise.

Stefanie O’Connell

This girl is the definition of getting a degree in one thing (drama) and working/killing it in another (finance).  If you’re looking for to truly learn more about personal finance, check out her site – she writes some fabulous in-depth articles.  And my favorite? Her #TalkingTaboo videos interviewing New Yorkers about money issues. LOVE.

Half Banked

So when I said witty as f@#$ above, this girl is the queen of it.  Maybe it’s my personal preference, but I love how Desirae writes – extremely informative with a hint of sarcasm and wit. Perfect combo.  And if you’re looking for investing advice, she just came out with a free 5-day email course for the beginner investor.  I even signed up (because you all know how much I hate extremely dislike the investing game and need all the help I can get).

Cait Flanders

Guys, she just completed a two-year shopping ban.  Yes, you read that right.  TWO YEARS.  (Read about it here.) And while I probably will never follow in her footsteps in that regards, she definitely keeps me inspired to stick to my money goals.  I mean, if she can give up shopping for two years, I can skip grabbing a DQ blizzard, right?

This is just a short list of the many blogs I read (full disclosure, I read way more than these 5...WAY more); however, I hope you enjoy checking out these extremely intelligent and successful ladies.  And if you have any other blogs you are in love with, share in the comments below! (And for full disclosure purposes, I have WAY more than these 5!)
